 Yvonne
Cobbs-Bey was born Yvonne Cobbs in Oakland, CA; and raised
by her parents Pastor A. L. Cobbs, Sr. and First Lady,
Victory Cobbs. Yvonne comes from a family devoted to
spreading the love of Christ.
This value has shaped the
life of Yvonne in to one of faith, service, and success.
Anointed in the ministries of song and medicine, Yvonne has
been singing since the
age of two, directing choirs since the age of five, a mother
and employee of the San Francisco city and county for over
20 years, all the time actively praising and worshipping
God.
Yvonne holds a Masters
Degree in the Science of Nursing, State and National
Certifications as a Nurse Practitioner; and continues to
participate in her church
home guiding the Youth Ministry, Health Ministry and
Directing all the Choirs of Harmony Missionary Baptist
Church under the leadership of Pastor A. L. Cobbs, Sr.
Yvonne Cobbs-Bey
participates as choir director and lead vocalist during
Harmony Missionary Baptist Church's Live Radio Broadcast
Service -Every Sunday Night on station K.E.S.T (1450 AM)
from 6:00-7:00pm., and Harmony Missionary Baptist Church's
Pre-recorded Worship Experience - Every Tuesday on Cable
Channel 26 from 8:00-9:00pm (Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont,
San Pablo, El Cerrito, and surrounding areas in California)
Yvonne was awarded by the
Bay Area Gospel Music Awards, the Director of the Year Award
in 1999; and has been featured as singer and songwriter on
the 2000 release of "The Anointing" by Pastor A.
L. Cobbs, Sr. and the Voices of Harmony; she directed the
choir and performed lead vocals on "Stand Still"
and "Bread of Heaven". Yvonne is also featured on
the 2001 release of "Lord You Are Worthy" by
Pastor A. L. Cobbs, Jr. and
Inner Jam Records singing the lead vocals on "Stand
Still".
In 2005 Yvonne sung lead
vocals in "Joy", "Thank You Lord", and
alto vocals in trio on "Melody of Praise"; as well
as background vocals on the CD "If I Told You" by
Lee Brooks and Company; while writing, singing, and
producing her debut CD project "God's Always
There" released December of 2005.
Moved by the Spirit to
spread the gospel Yvonne has begun work on her second CD
project "STAND STILL" to be released on her
independent record label "Bey Daz'l
Records" June of 2006. This CD project is written and
composed by Yvonne Cobbs-Bey. Co-produced and engineered by
Min. Roland Pollard and recorded with Jasmine Recording
Studio. "STAND STILL" is a unique gospel project
that harmoniously blends and mixes traditional and
contemporary melodies with a soulful appeal. Yvonne
continues to present the gospel on every track with her
special anointing and raised voice
of power and authority in praise and worship of God.
