Randy
(Preacher) Lee was born to Rev. & Mrs. King David Lee.
February 25th, 1944 on a farm in Warren County, Ga. At age
three he told his mother he wanted to be a preacher like his
father, after such a bold statement his parents gave him the
nickname “Preacher.” He grew up listening to an
array of different kinds of music, from country, to blues,
to gospel. The greatest impact however, came from gospel
music, especially southern gospel music.
Preacher left his farm
life for the bright lights of Baltimore, Maryland where he
started his musical career. The first instrument he learned
to play was the guitar, which he played by ear while
watching other great guitarist. Combining his natural ear
for music with his smooth hand eye coordination he could
play any cord.
In the 1990’s Preacher
played for most of the Top Local Gospel Groups, and shared
the stage with some of gospels greatest singers, including
“The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Pastor Shirley Caesar, The
Toney Brothers, The Chuck Wagon Gang and others.” By
1999 he started his own gospel group however, by 2003 God
moved him in another direction, which launched his solo
career. Singing the music he loved most, Southern Gospel
Music.
Preacher, now on his way
to a successful career in Southern Gospel music recorded his
first solo project in 2004, called, “My Favorite Hymns.
“Combining his singing talent with his gift of song
writing he recently finished his latest gospel CD titled
“Never Alone”
Randy (Preacher) Lee
continuously acknowledges that God has given him all of his
multitalented abilities. If a scripture can be assigned to
his life it would be Psalm 37:23 “The Steps of A
Good Man Are Order By The Lord.”
