The "New Journey
Quartet" was formed in 2002 as an outreach musical
ministry of Covenant Baptist Church of Granite Falls, NC.
Most of the members at that time attended the church and
become familiar with each other there. It wasn't long before
God revealed the great things that he had in store for this
particular grouping of his people. They started
singing/performing together at their church as well as other
local churches. Before much time had past, other churches
& promoters started requesting them to sing at their
venues. The New Journey Quartet now travels and sings all
over North & South Carolina as well as Virginia &
Tennessee. From the outset, pure three & four part vocal
harmonies was a given. They have also always used a
"Live" band which is becoming very rare in these
days of sound tracks. Many concert goers often comment about
the diverse range of music that this group presents. You
will hear many old time traditional southern gospel songs as
well as bluegrass, christian country & even classic
stylings. Many of the songs performed are written by members
of the group as well which gives them an original sound!
Of course, the most important thing
to the group is spreading the word of God either in song,
testimony or teaching. Having various musical backgrounds,
members share their personal testimonies and where they came
from as well as what the Lord has done for them. Two of the
members are church deacons, one has served as a musical
minister for a traveling evangelist and others have served
as teachers in their own churches. One of our members before
being led of God to give his talents to him, traveled with
such secular groups & singers as George Jones, Tanya
Tucker, Percy Sledge, Gene Watson & more.
New Journey Quartet is proud to have seen souls saved at
their concerts as well as bringing a refreshing touch to
weary Christian pilgrims. They would love to come to your
