was born in Greenville, N. C., the son of a Baptist
Minister. As a small child he enjoyed listening to
records of the The Happy Goodmans, The Chuckwagon
Gang, and George Beverly Shea who inspired him to sing
gospel music. He began singing in church at an early
age. Mike accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the
age of 12. He and his wife, Avis, are members of West
Florence Baptist Church in Florence, SC. In 1984, Mike
was encouraged to become the lead singer in a new
group, The New Galileans. In 1986, the group
disbanded. His desire to sing for the Glory of God
continued. Mike later joined another local quartet. He
has had the pleasure of singing with them for
approximately ten years. He has traveled the east
coast spreading the gospel through song and testimony.
Many people have come to know the Lord and many others
have drawn closer to Him. Mike would appreciate the
