Born
February 10th, 1972, Dwayne was raised in a Christian home.
His mother and father sang in their church choir. As a young
boy Dwayne learned to love and enjoy gospel music. Dwayne
would attend the PA State Singing Conventions with his family.
He remembered listening to many groups such as The Choraliers
and Pearl, The Masters, The Hays Family and The Vicksburg
Quartet. All who were and still are an inspiration to his
faith and ministry. Dwayne has been singing since high school;
singing in his high school chorus, church choir, local
programs, weddings and the Johnstown Symphony Choir. Dwayne’s
real love is southern gospel music. In October of 1998 Dwayne
was diagnosed with cancer, and because of God’s grace and his
love for us, and the power of prayer, he was healed. In august
of 2000, Dwayne’s dream became a reality when a man by the
name of Steve gave him an opportunity to sing at the PA State
Singing Convention in Martinsburg. The Lord opened the door.
Dwayne walked through and he has been singing for the Lord
ever since. Dwayne has had the opportunity to share the
concert stage with many of the groups that were an
inspiration to him. He has shared a stage with The Choraliers
and Pearl, The Masters, The Hays Family and also with Laverne
Tripp, The Connors, The Shaffers, Randy Simpson, The Bowmans,
The Pfeiffer’s and special friends The Pomeroys. Although he
never had the honor of being with the Vicksburg Quartet, he
has found very special friends in Jake and Steve. Dwayne’s
latest recording “Choose Me” was recorde with Jake
in the North Recording Studio under the “Christian
Artists Group” label. If you have an opportunity to see
Dwyane in concert I’m sure you will be pleased and your heart
blessed. In 2005 the PSGMA gave the first Keystone Award. This
award was given to a soloist, duo or group who did
something outstanding to up lift the name of Jesus. Although
Dwayne did not win he was given the honor of being nominated
for this award. Once again Dwayne has been nominated to have a
chance to receive the PSGMA Keystone Award.
