I
was born on April 17, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. That is
where I lived for almost 12 years before my family moved to
Virginia in 1967. My parents took me to church at an early
age and I always looked forward to this. Even as a child
although I didn’t realize it at the time, I was developing
an inner desire for the ways and things of God.
It was while a student at Appalachia High in Appalachia,
Virginia, that at the tender age of 17 I gave my heart to
the Lord while attending a service one night at First
Apostolic Church of Appalachia. I’ll never forget the date.
It was March 11, 1973. It was only a few weeks later that I
developed an interest in singing for the Lord. I was already
a musician, (I learned guitar at 12 and bass guitar at age
14), and had written a few Rock songs prior to becoming a
Christian, but praise God He had better plans for my life.
Down through the years,
God has blessed me to write over 100 Gospel songs, some of
which I have recorded, and have sung in church services in
several states and even over the medias of radio and
television. I have also become an accomplished bass
guitarist playing on three occasions for the Lamar Sego
Family and once for Bro. R.A. West who had a television
program at one time on WKPT in Kingsport. These are
blessings that I will always treasure.
I am currently in full
time ministry, working with my two local home churches as
well as traveling and accepting appointments at other
churches, auditoriums, etc. I play mostly piano at one of
the churches and am the bass guitarist at the other one.
