 I’d
like to introduce myself. My name is John Paul. I’m
51 years old and reside in a small town in west
Tennessee called Camden. I’ve lived here practically
all of my life and was raised on ‘good ole Gospel
music’. I taught myself to play the piano, by ear,
at the age of four and the guitar at age nine. When
I was 12, I was a member of the singing group
“The Believers”. We appeared on Tim Holt’s
“Young Country” television program that
aired on WSM-TV, channel 4 in Nashville, TN. I
founded the group, “Born Again” in 1989
and sand with them for over a year before I was
forced to go back on the road as an over the road
truck drive. An occupation that I have done for over
31 years, until a sever head injury in December of
2005 while hauling for FEMA in central Florida, put
me off the road and out of a truck for good.
While
driving cross country you have a lot of time on your
hands, sitting behind the wheel, and GOD has richly
blessed me with a lot of songs to write, which were
all inspired by HIM. The CD is my debut attempt at
sharing some of my many songs with a world that so
desperately needs to listen to the message that GOD
is telling them. I’ve entitled the project,
“I’m Just The Pencil”. Which is also the
10th track, and when you hear it, you’ll hear my
testimony for the many songs that GOD has given me.
Without HIM, I am nothing. All of the songs on this
CD, lyrics and music, GOD inspired me to write for
HIM, and to share with the world.
I have been
blessed to have my hometown radio stations playing
my work. All in all the LORD has given me over 30
songs during the last four years and I am just now
starting to submit myself to HIS will and se my
talent for HIM in a serious way.
I could say a lot
more about what the Lord has done for me through the
good times and the bad, but I could type for a
million years and not tell the half of it. Please
continue to pray for me and my family as I try to do
what HE wants me to do, and go where HE wants me to
go.
