Growing
up in small towns in eastern Oklahoma, this group
has always been a part of the working class. Going
to church became a passion for them as they followed
the teachings of Christ. Tim Shade always longed to
play the piano and after coming face to face with
the reality of a heavenly afterlife, he became
motivated to learn. Jeremy Parker started playing
the drums while just a kid but he always had a
desire to learn the guitar. He found the inspiration
while attending church one day and later joined up
with Tim to write songs about Christ. They have
devoted their song writing to only Jesus and life in
their songs are all about personal growth in their
own lives and how it fits in the Christian life.
As they often say,
“We don’t have a particular style because you
can’t tell about the goodness of God in only one
way. God can be experienced in many ways and forms
and we don’t want to narrow the minds of people by
playing one style. As a Christian band we believe in
God’s word. And the Bible is God’s word. God
wants us to have a life of more than enough. The
only way to get that is to do what God says.
Even though they
have different desires and goals, they do share one
thing in common. They want to write and play music
that lifts up Christ and to help others realize that
they are not the only ones that have gone through
the trials of this world.
We have been
playing music together since about 1999. We want our
music to be for Christ, and about life as it is now.
We love different kinds of music. And it shows in
the music that we play. As the leader of the band
(Jeremy) grew up listening to country music. “I
am a country boy. And you can hear it in the music
that I play and sing.” The keyboard player
(Tim) likes to listen to 80’s soft rock. And yes you
can hear it in the music that he plays and sings.
There are about 11
years different’s in our ages. But we have been
very good and close friends for many years. We went
to church together. And even went to the same
school. We grew up in the same small town. And know
most of the same people.
Exo 34:14 For thou
shalt worship no other god, for the LORD whose name
is Jealous, is a jealous God.
There is only one
God. And we will praise and worship him and only him
forever and ever.
Fame and fortune is not important to us. Just to
hear a little girl or boy came up and say, ‘Thank
you. You wrote that song for me,’ is payment enough.
If a young punk rocker can enjoy a simple folk song
while a senior citizen can rock to another, then
we’ve obtained our goal.”
Jeremy and Tim
reside in eastern Oklahoma where Jeremy is a
construction worker and Tim is a teacher. Each
experience from their careers inspires them to write
new music.
