We (steve & carolyn from
Smoky Mountain Gospel) were invited by brother Don Frost (Music City Gospel Showcase
Television) to a CHRISTmas
showcase featuring over 20 artists / groups. Talented
artists and groups performed one after the other, a quite
outstanding display of anointed gospel ministries were
represented.
THEN four humble brothers walked up and prepared to minister to us,
the lead singer brother Dewey Jeffrey (vocals / rhythm guitar)
gave a short introduction, but his introduction was not
focused on himself, nor on brother Jonathan Grimmett (lead
guitar / backup vocals) or on brother Eddie Bradley (bass
guitar) or on brother Allen Hill (drums)…but on just how
awesome our Lord, Master & Savior Jesus is.
Gods anointing could already be felt THICK on these brothers
before they ever hit a lick, but when they started playing
there was absolutely NO doubt that these four brothers from
West Virginia had been chosen by our awesome Lord to make a
tremendous impact on His harvest. You don’t have to meet
these brothers in person to feel the anointing, just click on

It’s 1:16 AM Saturday morning, December 24th, 2005, and I am
in awe listening over and over to just one of the songs
written by the guys named ‘The Walk’. Carolyn’s done
went to bed, and I need to catch a nap too, maybe after I
listen to ‘The Walk’ just one more time. I’ll catch
some shut-eye, but then…maybe I’ll listen just one
more time again…<smile>steve.

Been renewed has all 4 been a part of rock n’ roll country
bands growing up after all 4 of us had been born-again. the
Lord’s plan began to unfold Dewey and Eddie was friends, Eddie
and Jon was cousins, Allen lived behind Dewey’s friend
Charles.. Eddie had quit a gospel group “The Meade
Family” Dewey had quit “greater faith” and
Allen had never played gospel music, The lord spoke to Eddie
and told him to go to pigeon forge for the “Music City
Gospel Showcase” Eddie thought he’d be going by himself
until he thought of Dewey. He asked Dewey if he’d go with him
and Dewey said yes.. they began practicing a couple of songs
on acoustic guitars when Edde told Dewey about Jon, and that
Jon had just gave he life to the lord and could play guitar,
after a couple of weeks Jon practiced with Eddie and Dewey for
the first time. in the meantime, Charles was talking to a
friend of his about the songs Dewey and Eddie had played one
night at Dewey’s house.. Allen happened to have his kitchen
window open and heard this conversation taking place outside
.. he walked outside and asked Charles if they had a drummer..
Charles told Dewey about Allen .
Two days
later Been renewed practiced for the first time. we learned 5
songs in 6 practice sessions during the next 2 weeks… at the
end of this 2 week period, we were standing on stage in TN.
The rest is history, we have been booked solid since then.
seeing souls saved, body’s healed and prayers answered like
most people see there favorite TV
shows……….REGULARLY….haha! praise GOD… Naturally,
with our background of music and lifestyle, normal ol’ gospel
songs take a new twist and all originals have that “push
the limit” play it like an outlaw would. “Nothing
God cleanses can be called common or unclean”.. Been
renewed will continue to be different.. and hopefully reach a
people who are looking for something UNCOMMON and CLEAN!
